White Shin Oak Process

This was part of a vegetation project I did for work. Due to the nature of the type of work we do in simulation unfortunately I can not show it in it's final product. However, with that being said, this was the 4th species vegetation I created in a series of trees and vegetation for a customer. It was my first time doing environment art in terms of vegetation and was learning SpeedTree for Games on the fly. I am hooked!

I tried a variety of techniques on each different species of plant and tested out different workflows. I'm showing this one because it seems the closest to what I would do in the future as it yielded the best results out of the other workflows I tried but also was by far the fastest. I look forward to continuing a trek down the old path of Environment Art and will be striving to continue growth as an artist in this area. I will update with what I can in the near future.
